Ofgems Scoping Document (published in April 2006) set out the work streams and timetable for developing an offshore regulatory regime. This included the formation of OTEG, a working group to take these issues forward with the aim of drawing upon the expertise of industry. It is important to note that OTEG is an advisory body only and not a decision making body. The group is jointly chaired by Ofgem and DTI and meets monthly. Membership is by invitation, but every third meeting is open to all interested parties.Work streams identified by the scoping document which OTEG advise on include: Geographic Scope of transmission licences Allocation of transmission licences Offshore transmission technical rules Offshore transmission price control design Changes to electricity licences Changes to industry codesDetails of OTEG meetings will be available on this website and the DTI website.
