Equity, diversity and inclusion
Improving equity, diversity and inclusion at Ofgem and beyond.
Our strategy and approach
Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2022 sets out the specific steps we’re taking to become a more diverse and inclusive organisation.
One year on from launching our strategy, we published an update on our progress.
This progress has included:
- launching a Transitioning at Work Policy
- reporting significant improvements to female representation as part of the 50:50 project
- partnering with Energy UK’s Pride in Energy Group to launch our Power in Pride Promise to ensure inclusion for our LGBT+ colleagues
- being a Disability Confident Employer to ensure an accessible working environment for all our disabled colleagues
- making a public pledge alongside the POWERful Women Initiative on realising our equity, diversity and inclusion goals
- taking a firm stance on not participating in events with all white or all male speaker lists
Across the energy sector, our activities have included:
- partnering with Energy-UK, the Energy Networks Association (ENA) and the Energy Institute to launch and run the Tackling Inclusion and Diversity in Energy (TIDE) Taskforce
- partnering with Energy UK and Citizens Advice to launch the Diversity in Speakers Directory, promoting external speakers in energy from ethnic minority communities
Gender pay gap reports
We share gender pay data with Cabinet Office, who publish it as part of a report into gender pay across the UK Civil Service.
