Notice under section 7A(9) of the Electricity Act 1989 (as amended) of the proposed transfer of an electricity supply licence held by Crown Oil Limited to Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited
The Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (‘the Authority’) hereby gives notice pursuant to Section 7A(9) of the Electricity Act 1989 (as amended) (‘the Act’) as follows:
1. Crown Oil Limited, (company registration number 01315556), the registered office of which is The Oil Centre, Bury New Road, Heap Bridge, Bury, BL9 7HY, has written to the Authority seeking its consent under Section 7A of the Act to the transfer of the electricity supply licence granted to Crown Oil Limited, pursuant to section 6(1)(d) of the Act to Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited (company registration number 11357910), the registered office of which is at The Oil Centre, Bury New Road, Heap Bridge, Bury, BL9 7HY.
2. The Authority proposes to grant consent to the proposed licence transfer which, subject to our consent, is currently proposed to take place on 4 February 2021, for the following reasons:
(i) Crown Oil Limited has applied to the Authority under Section 7A of the Act for the Authority’s consent to the transfer of the electricity supply licence to Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited; and
(ii) The Authority is satisfied that it would have been appropriate to grant an electricity supply licence to Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited had Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited applied to the Authority for such a licence and as such considers that it is appropriate to consent to a transfer of an existing electricity supply licence to Crown Gas and Power 2 Limited.
3. Any representations or objections in relation to the proposal by the Authority to grant consent to the proposed licence transfer should be made in writing no later than 23 January 2021 to the Authority, either:
by post to: the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority, 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14 4PU marked for the attention of Industry Codes and Licensing or by email to: licensing@ofgem.gov.uk
