NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6A(5) OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 OF THE GRANT OF AN ELECTRICITY INTERCONNECTOR LICENCE
Pursuant to section 6A(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”), the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”) hereby gives notice that on 22 August 2018, an electricity interconnector licence was granted under section 6(1)e of the Act to NeuConnect Britain Ltd (company number 11138769) whose registered office is situated at c/o Fulcrum, 105 Piccadilly, London, W1J 7NJ, United Kingdom authorising it to participate in the operation of the NeuConnect Interconnector, an electricity interconnector between Isle of Grain substation, Kent, United Kingdom and Fedderwarden substation, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Note: An electricity interconnector licence authorises a person to operate an electricity interconnector. It is not an authorisation to construct the interconnector. Construction of the interconnector is subject to separate planning processes including the obtaining of any consents or permits required from relevant authorities, including the relevant planning authority.
