Great Britain security and quality of supply standard working group
About the working group
The Great Britain Security And Quality Of Supply Standard Working Group examined and resolved any issues affecting the GB SQSS.
The GB SQSS sets out coordinated criteria and methodologies that Britain’s Transmission Licensees use for planning and operating the National Electricity Transmission System.
The GB SQSS was extended so that an Offshore Transmission Owner is required to operate and maintain its offshore transmission system in accordance with the GB SQSS as required in the standard conditions of the transmission licence. These changes were made by the Secretary of State at ‘Go Active’, using powers under Section 90 and 91 of the Energy Act 2004.
This page hosts documents relating to the work that has been carried out on the modifications needed for the GB SQSS. This work was led by National Grid.
