NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6A(5) OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 OF THE GRANT OF AN ELECTRICITY INTERCONNECTOR LICENCE
Pursuant to section 6A(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”), the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”) hereby gives notice that on 12 November 2014, an electricity interconnector licence was granted under section 6(1)(e) of the Act to National Grid IFA 2 Limited (company number 09129992) whose registered office is situated at 1-3 Strand, London, WC2N 5EH, United Kingdom authorising it to participate in the operation of the IFA 2 interconnector, an electricity interconnector between Great Britain (Chilling, 400kV substation) and France (Tourbe).

Note: An electricity interconnector licence authorises a person to operate an electricity interconnector. It is not an authorisation to construct the interconnector. Construction of the interconnector is subject to separate planning processes including the obtaining of any consents or permits required from relevant authorities, including the relevant planning authority.
