This is Ofgem’s letter of recommendation to the Secretary of State to designate a list of energy industry codes as ‘qualifying documents’ and central systems as ‘qualifying central systems’ under Schedule 12 to the Energy Act. This would allow Ofgem to use its transitional powers under Schedules 12 and 13 to the act to implement energy code reform. We consulted on making these recommendations in our implementation consultation on energy code reform on 30 January 2024, and decided to proceed with our proposals in our decision on the implementation of energy code reform, published on 22 August 2024.
