The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme annual report covers activity during 2021-22. It presents statistics on the installations accredited, payments made to participants, levelisation, outlines changes to the scheme’s regulations and provides a summary of our audit and compliance programme.

Highlights

  • 582 new accreditations were registered on the CFR in Year 12, bringing the scheme total to 869,956.
  • Total installed capacity (TIC) on the scheme is now 6.46 GW, with 7.94 TWh of renewable electricity generated by FIT installations during Year 12. Electricity exports reached 2.06 TWh in 2021-22.
  • Photovoltaic (PV) installations account for 98.92% (860,545) of all FIT accreditations, forming 5.14 GW of TIC.
  • 2021-22 generation payments were approximately £1.45 billion, whilst total export payments were £105 million.
  • The total scheme value for 2021-22 was £1.57 billion.
