We continue to support the Government’s announcement of the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) scheme. This letter clarifies that it is imperative that suppliers are providing consumers with timely and accurate information, but that Ofgem’s approach to compliance and enforcement matters in relation to the EPG scheme’s interaction with suppliers’ licence obligations will be pragmatic, whilst continuing to adhere to the principles of appropriate consumer protection. This letter also confirms that SLC 22.9c does not prohibit supplier's changing the cost of Qualifying Fixed Tariffs in line with the revised EPG rates.
