Data table: Standard variable tariff prices compared to the default tariff cap level if applied before 2019
Reports, plans and updates
This spreadsheet contains data comparing the standard variable tariffs of the six larger suppliers (annual average, dual fuel) to the default tariff cap had it applied since April 2015.
Ofgem analysis at the time the default tariff cap was introduced (1 January 2019) suggests that the cap would have reduced the price of the average standard variable tariffs from the six largest suppliers by around £75 to £100 per year since April 2015, had it been in place over this period.
