On 12 August we published an open letter to smaller suppliers and other interested stakeholders seeking information in connection with the Electricity Settlement Reform Significant Code Review. The information we are seeking is set out in a template that we also published on the same date.

We want smaller suppliers (and any other stakeholders with an interest, such as third party intermediaries) to provide Ofgem with information that you consider would inform our consideration of the impacts of moving towards market-wide half hourly settlement. The open letter indicates the subjects on which we would most welcome your input.

Any data and evidence we receive will help us in developing our Impact Assessment. Responses from smaller suppliers and market participants other than suppliers will be extremely valuable in helping us make sure we take account of the impact on all types of stakeholder. Even if you can only provide us with broad estimates or qualitative responses, we are keen to hear from you.

We wrote separately to other key stakeholders to request information.

The deadline for all respondents is 5pm on Monday 7 October 2019.

Please use the published template to input your responses. In compiling your response please also refer to the latest version of the RfI Q&A (updated version dated 30 August). This document provides guidance and clarifies points raised by stakeholders about the draft version of the template that we published last month, and about the RfI we published on 12 August.

We shall keep updating the Q&A document periodically throughout, please email us (at halfhourlysettlement@ofgem.gov.uk) if you wish to be notified when we publish an updated version on our website.

We will use the responses to inform the draft Impact Assessment, on which we will consult as part of developing the Full Business Case for market-wide settlement reform.
