Consumer engagement survey 2017
Reports, plans and updates
Since 2014 Ofgem has run an annual survey to track engagement in the domestic energy market. This report presents the results of the 2017 survey.
Ofgem commissioned research agency GfK to conduct the research, comprising a survey of 4000 consumers and 12 qualitative interviews. The survey covers a wide range of topics including consumer behaviour, attitudes, perceptions, knowledge and outcomes.
Additionally, this year Ofgem have worked with GfK to develop an attitudinal segmentation of consumers to help better understand consumers’ underlying barriers to and drivers of engagement.
The full data tables are published below, and the raw SPSS data file can be shared on request. Please contact consumer.first@ofgem.gov.uk for further details.
