We are proposing a potential review of the Relative Price Control (RPC) framework that applies to Independent Gas Transporters (IGTs), and are seeking input from stakeholders on the scope, focus and conduct of that review.

Who should respond

We are keen to engage with as wide a pool of interested parties as possible. We would like to hear the views of industry stakeholders such as gas transporters, shippers and suppliers, those working in the gas sector as well as consumer representatives. We particularly welcome responses from Independent Gas Transporters and seek their responses for questions five to seven of the call for input.

Background

The Relative Price Control (RPC) is a licence condition that applies specifically to transportation charges for Independent Gas Transporters (IGTs). This call for input outlines recent developments that may impact the continued suitability of the RPC and signals our intention to conduct a review of the RPC framework and invite input on the scope, focus and conduct of a potential review of the Independent Gas Transporter RPC.

Why your views matter

We want to hear your views on the desirability, scope and focus of the proposed IGT RPC review. The feedback you provide, and any collected through the review itself, will help us to assess the effectiveness of the existing framework and consider the merit of potential alternative proposals.

Your thoughts on the information we plan to collect from IGTs will enable us to progress a review that is rigorous and that fully considers current and future market challenges.

How to respond

This call for input closes 25 March 2025. Please send your response to gas.systems@ofgem.gov.uk
