In March 2024, we published a discussion paper on Future of Domestic Price Protection. This is part of our work to open the discussion around price protection in the future retail market. The discussion paper set out the successes and challenges of the cap alongside a broad spectrum of options for evolving consumer price protection, seeking input from stakeholders on whether reform is needed, and if so, what kind of reform will work best for consumers. This document summarises stakeholder views and provides an update on our next steps.
