Implementation of Standard Licence Condition 32A: Power to direct suppliers to test consumer engagement measures – decision to make licence modifications
Correspondence and other
We are issuing a decision to implement changes to the domestic standard conditions of the electricity and gas supply licences to introduce a new licence condition that gives us the power to direct suppliers to test consumer engagement measures. This consultation follows the Statutory Consultation in October and recommendations made by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) resulting from its investigation into the energy market.
We propose to implement the CMA’s recommendations in full. With the proposed changes we aim to increase consumer engagement in the energy market and promote competition and innovation between retail energy suppliers.
