Scottish Power have given notice to us of their intention to submit a claim for a Last Resort Supply Payment. Scottish Power is seeking to claim certain additional costs incurred in acting as Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR) to customers of the former Daisy Energy Supply Limited (who traded as "Yorkshire Energy") and Tonik Energy Limited. A SoLR may make a claim for a Last Resort Supply Payment from relevant distribution networks where we have given our consent to the amount claimed.
Following on from our consultation, this letter explains our decision to consent to Scottish Power claiming a Last Resort Supply Payment of up to £2.4m for Daisy Energy Supply Limited and 1.04m for Tonik Energy Limited.
For clarity, these claims relate to suppliers that failed prior to the temporary faster levy process that we set out in our decision published on 01 December 2021. This claim and our approval is following the standard levy process.
