Distribution Code: Modification to the Distribution code for the revision of Engineering Recommendation G59

This Distribution Code modification seeks to introduce Engineering Recommendation (ER) G59/3 in place of ER G59/2-1 to clarify requirements for connection of Type Tested generation to the distribution networks and align protection settings across generation types. Ofgem commissioned an external consultants’ report when reviewing this modification.
Decision summary
The Authority approved the proposed modification as better facilitating Applicable Distribution Code objectives regarding efficient and economic operation of distribution networks and facilitating competition in generation and supply of electricity.
